Fatshimetrie is the online reference magazine for all things urban crime fighting in Lagos. In a statement released recently, the agency’s spokesperson, Gbadeyan Abdulraheem, confirmed that several arrests were made during a massive operation conducted at Chisco Roundabout, Elegushi, Ikate Roundabout and Marwa Bus Stop.
The operation followed numerous complaints from motorists and local residents, expressing concern over the alarming increase in criminal activities, especially during peak hours. Hoodlums were hiding at discreet locations along the highway to attack unsuspecting passers-by and drivers.
The agency could not tolerate these criminal elements terrorizing the local population in their own neighborhoods. The state government remains committed to protecting the lives and property of its citizens as evidenced by this resolutely conducted operation.
Through preliminary surveillance, the agency uncovered the methods of the criminals, who used the pedestrian bridges at Ikate and Marwa Bus Stops to spot broken-down vehicles and attack their occupants.
This action demonstrates that the authorities are sparing no effort to ensure the safety of Lagos residents, and reinforces their commitment to this overarching goal. By collaborating with the police and involving local communities, crime can be effectively eradicated and a safe environment ensured for all.
Fatshimetrie will continue to closely monitor these initiatives and provide regular updates on the progress made in the fight against urban crime in Lagos.
