The city of Mbuji-Mayi, in the Kasai Oriental province of the Democratic Republic of Congo, is the scene of reprehensible practices that jeopardize security and justice after road accidents. The looting of vehicles involved in accidents has become a worrying practice that recently sparked outrage from the head of the city’s road traffic police (PCR).
Deputy High Commissioner Félix Mukuna strongly condemned these acts of looting, highlighting the harmful consequences they cause. Not only do these practices put the competent authorities responsible for managing road accidents in difficulty, but they also leave victims in precarious situations, without any immediate assistance.
Indeed, the looting of vehicles involved in accidents not only disrupts the investigation and justice process, but also seriously harms the injured persons who may find themselves abandoned and without appropriate medical assistance. Commissioner Mukuna warns against these irresponsible attitudes that compromise the lives of citizens and undermine the integrity of the justice system.
He recalls that the PCR is always ready to intervene in the event of road accidents and calls on the population to show foresight and respect by letting the competent authorities assume their role. The study and treatment of facts related to road accidents must be conducted in a professional and equitable manner to guarantee appropriate justice and adequate care for victims.
It is imperative that everyone behaves responsibly and civically in such situations to prevent already dramatic situations from degenerating into tragedy. Respect for the common good and the safety of all must prevail in all circumstances.
In conclusion, Deputy High Commissioner Félix Mukuna calls for the cooperation of all to combat these scandalous practices of looting after road accidents and reaffirms the PCR’s commitment to ensuring the safety and protection of all citizens of Mbuji-Mayi.
Fatshimetrie continues to closely monitor these developments and is committed to informing the public about the actions taken to put an end to these unacceptable practices.
