Road safety in the DRC: The INPP is committed with the AFD to the establishment of vehicle technical control centers

In the Democratic Republic of Congo, road safety is a major issue for the authorities. To achieve this, the National Institute for Professional Preparation (INPP) is joining forces with the French Development Agency (AFD) to set up automobile technical inspection centres. The INPP Kongo Central/Boma Provincial Directorate is one of the beneficiaries of this infrastructure which was visited by the Deputy Director General of the INPP accompanied by AFD partners and the Governor of Kongo Central, Guy Bandu Ndungidi .

The purpose of the visit was to see the level of progress of the construction work of this new service. For Patrick Kayembe Nsumpi, Deputy Director General of the INPP, the inauguration of these centers is planned in the coming days. The provincial authority carefully followed the explanations provided by number 2 of the INPP on the operation of this new service. The head of the provincial executive is even among the first customers to carry out the technical inspection of his vehicles there.

Beyond the establishment of these automotive technical control centers in the DRC, the INPP also announced the construction of the new administrative building of the Provincial Directorate of the INPP Kongo Central / Boma. This is one more step in the fight against road insecurity in the DRC which causes many losses of human life each year.

In short, the establishment of these automobile technical control centers is a life-saving initiative that will certainly contribute to reducing traffic accidents and their dramatic consequences. The INPP and the AFD have here taken an essential and ambitious act for road safety in the DRC
