Introduction :
As part of the East African Community (EAC)-led peace efforts in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni met with former Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta. This meeting took place at State House Entebbe and was also attended by the Peace Process Secretariat. Context :
Eastern DR Congo has been an unstable region for almost three decades, with the presence of more than 130 armed groups. Since November 2021, the Congolese army, the FARDC, has been fighting against the M23 rebels. Faced with this situation, the East African Community has engaged in mediation to promote the peace process in the DR Congo.
