Strategic establishment in the DRC: BMI-WES SA opens new investment prospects

The Ivorian company BMI-WES SA recently expressed interest in setting up in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), which could open up new investment opportunities in this Central African country undergoing economic transformation. This announcement follows a prospecting mission conducted from July 30 to August 2, 2024, during which BMI-WES SA explored investment opportunities in the DRC.

The objective of this establishment would be the creation of a technological platform for collection and recovery, integrating an electronic payment module. This initiative by BMI-WES SA is part of a process of digitalization and modernization of financial services, with a potential positive impact on the Congolese economy.

This approach came to fruition following the participation of the National Agency for the Promotion of Investments (ANAPI) in the 7th edition of the African Entrepreneurship Fair (SAFE) in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. This event allowed a meeting between representatives of BMI-WES SA and the ANAPI team, specialized in technological and electronic money solutions related to digitalization.

During this meeting, the Director General of ANAPI, Bruno Tshibangu, highlighted the agency’s missions in favor of improving the business climate, promoting public and private investments, as well as supporting investors in their projects. Vital support for companies wishing to establish themselves on the Congolese market.

The CEO of BMI-WES SA presented the company’s project, focused on the real-time recovery of public resources and the payment of state debts. This electronic money platform, developed in collaboration with the technical operator BMI-WFS, aims to increase the mobilization of public resources and promote the financial inclusion of populations, a commendable initiative for the economic and social development of the DRC.

Subsequently, the Ivorian delegation was received by the Deputy Minister of the Interior of the DRC, Eugenie Tshiela, to discuss the challenges of digitalization in public services. The Deputy Minister stressed the importance of this project for the country and expressed her interest in seeing the realization of this initiative thanks to support from the World Bank.

This meeting was an opportunity for BMI-WES SA to present its expertise in financial management and digitalization of services, offering promising prospects for the future of the DRC.
