“The SG of Udps/Tshisekedi, Augustin Kabuya, strengthens his international alliances during a trip to Paris and Brussels”

In May 2023, the Secretary General of Udps/Tshisekedi and Vice-President of the Socialist International, Augustin Kabuya, traveled along the Paris-Brussels axis with a large delegation. The members of his delegation included Me Elvis Mayo Bieme and Dr Jonas Kalambayi, respectively chief of staff and deputy chief of staff; Amisi Makutano, member of the Presidium of the Youth League and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ogefrem, and Me Patrick Yala Lemba, Kongo-Central Provincial Minister for Hydrocarbons.

Arrived at Zaventem airport, he was warmly welcomed by activists and executives of his party as well as those of other Udps allies, led by the Federal President of Belgium and the National Secretary in charge of External Relations, Angel Pabolangi.

During his stay in Brussels, Kabuya met several delegations, including those of the Federations of Great Britain and Belgium, as well as those of the section of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the party “Autre vision du Congo”. During his meeting with the members of the federation across the Channel, the SG discussed the situation of the major problems that would weaken the federation. As for the members of the federal committee of Belgium, the SG invited them to sincerity, unity, non-exposure of the party’s problems in social networks but also to the consideration of the fighters of the Udps in opposition and those in power.

On the morning of May 24, 2023, the SG went to Zaventem airport to welcome its distinguished guest Mrs. Benedicta Lasi, Secretary General of the Socialist International, who had come from Germany in discussion with the Spd party . Constructive exchanges with Ms. Lasi throughout the day, particularly on the prospects of the Socialist International.

In Paris, Augustin Kabuya met with members of the French federation and visited Alexandre Ngyekama, Federal President hospitalized at the Gonesse Hospital Center in the Ile-de-France region, with a message of comfort and support.

This trip is part of an intense political activity led by SG Augustin Kabuya. The visit of various delegations and the exchange with international political personalities testify to the desire of the Udps to strengthen its alliances and to deepen its reflection on contemporary political issues.
