Gender equality at the heart of political decisions at Fatshimetrie

Fatshimetrie, July 23, 2024 –

The issue of gender equality and the full participation of women in political decisions is gaining momentum in Fatshimetrie. Indeed, a citizen organization recently advocated for taking into account the gender dimension in the City’s decision-making bodies.

The NGO “Women and Development” highlighted the importance of the presence of women in political spheres to guarantee fair and equitable representation of society. According to Rose Tshibuabua, permanent secretary of CONAFED, the underrepresentation of women in deliberative bodies and local government requires institutional mechanisms to address this persistent inequality.

This initiative is part of a global approach to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment, objectives already established during the platform’s action plan in Beijing. Indeed, the involvement of women in the management of public affairs is essential for a more inclusive and egalitarian society.

Daniel Lukusa, president of the deliberative body of Fatshimetrie, welcomed this approach and committed to examining the organization’s demands for better representation of women in decision-making bodies.

It is imperative to continue to raise awareness of the importance of gender equality and promote the participation of women in political spheres to ensure a more just and balanced society. The inclusion of women in decision-making processes is a crucial issue for the development and progress of our society.

In conclusion, the call for the full participation of women in decision-making bodies in Fatshimetrie is an important step towards a more just, egalitarian and inclusive society. It is time to recognize and value the essential role of women in building a better future for all. ACP/C.L.
