Humanitarian emergency in the DRC: Essential mobilization to help displaced people

Fatshimetrie has just revealed an alarming report on the situation of displaced people in the DRC. More than 3.3 million people have been forced to flee their homes in the provinces of North Kivu, South Kivu and Ituri since the start of 2022. These figures reveal a massive humanitarian crisis , requiring urgent mobilization to help these people in need.

To respond to this crisis, the Vodacom Foundation launched the “Red Alert” program to provide assistance to the displaced. Recently, it distributed basic necessities kits to 1,000 beneficiaries and provided sewing machines with the aim of empowering displaced people. In addition, the Foundation has undertaken the construction of new homes for those displaced by the Kalehe floods in South Kivu.
