Last Thursday, July 4, a significant event took place at Kamoa Center of Excellence, where Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) joined forces with Kamoa Copper SA through the signing of partnership contracts. This meeting was orchestrated under the supervision of the Regulatory Authority for Subcontracting in the Private Sector (ARSP), chaired by Mr. Miguel Katemb, its Director General.
During this special day, the General Director of Kamoa highlighted the adaptation of the company’s procurement processes to fully comply with current regulations. He also highlighted the recognition granted to Kamoa Copper by the ARSP, through an award given to the President of Ivanhoe, thus testifying to the company’s sustained efforts in favor of local entrepreneurship.
An eclectic panel of companies took part in this signing ceremony, some coming directly from local communities and others operating in different sectors of greater Katanga and the Democratic Republic of Congo. These partnerships reflect Kamoa Copper’s commitment to supporting and developing the local entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Mr. Yannick Kibambe, Manager of KASKIP SARLU, a community enterprise resulting from the Kamoa Copper economic development program, expressed his gratitude to the parent company: “For us, at KASKIP, this contract signing symbolizes the achievement of an objective common to the government and large companies such as Kamoa, that of promoting the emergence of a Congolese middle class through the development of local entrepreneurs. »
