Olorunfemi, in an interview with Fatshimetrie, stressed the importance of paying workers adequately to boost their productivity. He said that well-paid employees tend to be more productive than those who are poorly paid. According to him, increasing the minimum wage is essential to ensure the well-being of workers and strengthen the state’s economy.
Ahead of the upcoming election, Olorunfemi said his party is committed to increasing the minimum wage to ₦120,000, stressing that this is the minimum amount envisaged to ensure decent living conditions for workers. This measure aims to promote worker productivity and increase internal government revenue. The aim is to create a virtuous circle where higher wages encourage better job performance, which contributes to economic growth.
Furthermore, Olorunfemi stressed the importance of developing strong logistics infrastructure to boost trade and the state’s economy. Its program includes the construction of a dry port to reduce traffic congestion to Lagos and its environs. In partnership with the Alaba International Market Association in Lagos, it plans to establish a dry port in order to relieve congestion in the market and boost trade.
In summary, Olorunfemi offers a holistic approach aimed at improving the working conditions of employees, strengthening the local economy through decent wages and boosting trade through modern logistics infrastructure. This ambitious vision aims to transform the State into a dynamic economic hub, offering growth and development opportunities for all its residents.
