Violent incursion by the Mobondo militia in Kinsele: More than fifty dead in the clashes

Fatshimetrie, your preferred source of information, continues to keep you informed of recent events shaking the Kinsele region, in the Kwamouth territory, in the Democratic Republic of Congo. More than fifty people lost their lives during a violent incursion perpetrated by the Mobondo militia on Saturday July 13.

According to testimonies from Kwamouth MLA-elect David Bisaka and Kimomo village chief, more than 40 militiamen were neutralized as part of this operation. Unfortunately, nine soldiers also lost their lives in combat, as well as the wife of one of these soldiers. While the army managed to rout this armed faction, the human toll remains heavy and tragic.

Respect for the act of commitment signed by the traditional authorities Teke and Yaka, under the aegis of the Head of State, must be underlined. Despite the efforts made to establish peace in the region, it is dismaying to note the resurgence of violence and armed clashes, endangering the stability of the local population.

The provincial deputy insists on the need for the competent authorities, in particular the Head of State, to intervene decisively to put an end to these acts of violence. As the security situation remains tense in Kwamouth, with repeated attacks by Mobondo militiamen, it is imperative to act quickly to ensure the safety and protection of civilians.

Fatshimetrie is closely following developments in the situation in the Kinsele region and remains mobilized to inform you in real time. It is our duty to strongly condemn these acts of violence and support efforts to restore peace and security to this disaster area. Let us remain united and vigilant in the face of these tragedies which are mourning families and destabilizing an entire community.
