The Congolese army intensifies its operations against the Patriotic and Integrationist Force of Congo (FPIC) to protect civilians in Mambasa territory

The Patriotic and Integrationist Force of Congo (FPIC) continues its bellicose activities in the territory of Mambasa, causing the death of many civilians and the violation of human rights. To put an end to it, the army arrested seven suspected members of the faction while another was neutralized last week. This security operation aims to limit violence in the region, which is also facing attacks by the Democratic and Allied Forces (ADF).

Images of those arrested have also circulated in local media, showing the determination of Congolese security forces to counter armed rivals. However, the alarming situation in the area persists, and many IDPs are seeking refuge in overcrowded and unsanitary camps.

Despite the efforts of the authorities, insecurity in DR Congo continues to pose a major challenge for the civilian population. In other parts of the country, economic and political problems also continue to make the headlines, as evidenced by the recent strike by taxi drivers in Kinshasa or the controversy over the bonus for the added value for the intersyndicale national financial authorities.

However, there is hope in this relentless struggle for peace and security. Economic cooperation between the DRC and China is intensifying thanks to a comprehensive strategic partnership and promising development projects, such as Sicomines. Additionally, the UN peacekeeping mission in the DRC remains active, working with the Congolese authorities to improve security in the region.

In conclusion, the events in Mambasa territory highlight the need for a lasting solution to the violence and insecurity in the region. Measures must be taken to protect civilian populations and ensure that armed groups like the FPIC can no longer operate with impunity.
