Meeting with the general secretaries of the political parties, the march of the opposition is authorized but with another itinerary. This was announced by Kinshasa city governor Gentiny Ngobila after the meeting. The march will take place on Kasa-Vubu Avenue to drop off at YMCA Square, passing through the Sakombi roundabout, Air Congo district.
The opposition wishes to demonstrate against the high cost of living faced by the Congolese, the insecurity in the eastern part of the country and the “chaotic” electoral process led by the CENI. This same organization, although authorized, has set another route.
On the sidelines of this day, the governor’s political party will also organize a rally at the Masina municipal stadium.
Finally, beyond these political events, attacks continue to mourn certain regions of the country. Voices in Belgium and the DRC are rising for military cooperation in the face of the M23 terrorist threat and the growing insecurity in certain territories.
In terms of financial governance, the UDPS/Tshisekedi opposes the governor of Kasai-Oriental. Also, the United Nations noted an increase in human rights violations in March, not to mention the suspension of funding by the World Bank.
Finally and concretely, the special economic zone of the DRC, Musienene, is moving towards industrialization to the delight of the country’s leaders. The area is, in fact, in full restructuring financed in part by the French.
All of this is taking place as a tourism development project is endangered by an armed attack at Virunga National Park that left four dead and six injured.
Political and security events continue to unfold in Congo-Kinshasa and the situation remains fragile and complex
