The living forces of Ituri are mobilizing against armed conflicts in their province
In an exchange with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Peter Kazadi, the active forces of Ituri demanded concrete measures to arrest the sponsors of the conflicts in their province. They believe that the arrest of these individuals is essential to put an end to the activism of armed groups and to protect the civilian population.
The notables of Ituri underlined that the people manipulating the strings of the armed conflicts are identified and well known. They therefore insisted on the need to arrest them in order to set an example and weaken the influence of armed groups. Elisabeth Buve, one of the women community leaders in the region, expressed this request forcefully.
In response, Deputy Prime Minister Kazadi promised to take steps to identify and arrest the alleged intellectual perpetrators of the armed conflicts in Ituri. He stressed that many influential figures in the country support these armed groups and that their accomplices will be denounced in due course.
This meeting took place in Bunia, capital of Ituri province. Peter Kazadi continued his tour by going to Kisangani, capital of the province of Tshopo. This initiative shows the importance given by the central government to the resolution of conflicts and the promotion of security in the various provinces of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
It is essential that concrete measures be taken to stop the sponsors of the conflicts in Ituri. This region has been the scene of recurrent violence in recent years, causing terrible suffering for the civilian population. By attacking the instigators of these conflicts, the government could demonstrate its firmness and its will to guarantee security and stability in the region.
It is also important that the international community support the efforts of the Congolese government to resolve these conflicts and promote peace. Cooperation between the different actors, whether local, national or international, is crucial to achieve a lasting resolution of the conflicts in Ituri.
In conclusion, the call of the active forces of Ituri to arrest the sponsors of the conflicts is an important step towards the resolution of this violence. We hope that the Congolese government and the international community will respond to this call with determination and act quickly to end this unnecessary suffering and allow the people of Ituri to live in peace and security
