The Shield: Clarification on rumors of corruption and money laundering

The president of the non-profit association Le Bouclier, Jean-David E’ngazi, recently held a press briefing in Kinshasa to clarify a situation which was causing strong reactions on social networks. Indeed, the NGO Le Bouclier received a financial donation from the Chinese company Manono Lithium Sas, in order to continue its humanitarian actions in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Faced with the accusations made against him, particularly on social networks, Jean-David E’ngazi was summoned by CENAREF to be interviewed. Following a careful investigation carried out by this national financial intelligence unit, it was proven that the financial activities of the NGO were transparent and legal. Thus, rumors of money laundering and corruption turned out to be unfounded.

Jean-David E’ngazi stressed during his speech that these attacks aimed to discredit the NGO Le Bouclier. He denounced the manipulation orchestrated with the aim of tarnishing the image and reputation of his structure. He insisted that the main objective of the NGO is to help vulnerable populations, in particular by meeting the needs in terms of health, education, humanitarian aid and support for victims of disasters.

The choice of Manono Lithium Sas to support the non-profit organization Le Bouclier was made on the basis of common values. Indeed, the Chinese company was looking for a committed and transparent partner to carry out humanitarian actions in the DRC. The Bouclier ASBL, whose principles are based on respect for human dignity and mutual aid, was thus selected to receive this financial support.

It is appropriate to highlight the exemplary work carried out by the non-profit organization Le Bouclier, intervening in numerous areas to help the most deprived populations. Its concrete actions in favor of victims of natural disasters, the most deprived and populations affected by conflicts are a testimony to its commitment and solidarity.

In conclusion, Jean-David E’ngazi’s speech during this press briefing highlighted the transparency and integrity of the actions carried out by the NGO Le Bouclier. Beyond the unfounded controversies, emphasis was placed on the importance of solidarity and mutual aid to meet the urgent needs of the Congolese population.
