During the work of the national commission for the employment of foreigners in Kinshasa, the Minister of Employment and Labor, Ephraïm Akwakwa, took significant measures by granting a 60-day moratorium to employers to comply with legal requirements in this area. of employment.

Ordinance number 74/098 of June 6, 1974 and order number 77383 of December 29, 1977 strictly regulate the employment of foreign workers in the DRC. No foreigner may take up employment under an employment contract without first obtaining a work card.
