The importance of female leadership and gender mainstreaming in the media cannot be underestimated, and it is with real satisfaction that we learn of the recent initiative taken in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, as part of the training workshop organized for 40 women journalists from the 26 provinces of the country.
This event, supported by the Association of Women in the Media (AFEM/DRC), aims to strengthen the capacities of these information professionals in terms of female leadership and gender mainstreaming in media content. As a vector for controlling information disseminated on a large scale, the media have a crucial role to play in balanced gender representation, and this is precisely what this workshop aims to achieve.
