“The governor of Kasai launches landfill work to eradicate the ravines: an initiative applauded by the local population”

The governor of the province of Kasaï, Dieudonné Pieme, recently announced the launch of the work to fill in the ravine located at the Kapongo Institute in Tshikapa. This decision was taken after the central government sent a batch of anti-erosion machinery and materials to help eradicate this problem.

The local population was very satisfied with the initiative, thanking President Félix Tshisekedi for listening to his fellow citizens, as well as the provincial authority for its involvement in the acquisition of the necessary machinery and materials. However, the governor asked the population to lend a hand to the executives of the Roads and Drainage Office (OVD) as well as to the security services to work in complete safety.

This is a commendable initiative that should help citizens regain their peace of mind, especially since the problem of the ravine has already swallowed up several houses. We hope that such initiatives will be encouraged and supported throughout the DRC.
