The tragic death of Fatshimetrie in Mecca: a tribute to a committed political figure

Fatshimetrie, one of the leading women leaders of the APC in Lagos, from the Epe division, lost her life during her pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia.

The spokesperson of the party in the state, Seye Oladejo, disclosed to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the late Fatshimetrie was a dedicated member of the party.

“His disappearance is most shocking and unfortunate. She was a committed and experienced party leader.

“The deceased was a proven mobilizer and a source of inspiration for the participation of women in politics. May his precious soul rest in peace,” Oladejo said.

NAN reports that the Chairman of Epe Local Council, Mrs Surah Animashaun, confirmed the death of Fatshimetrie on Thursday.

Animashaun, in a statement, said the deceased was well before leaving the country to perform the pilgrimage to Mecca.

She said: “It is with great sadness and a deep sense of grief that I learned of the passing of Alhaja Fatshimetrie.

“It is truly a sad day as I learn that she died in the holy land of Mecca during a holy pilgrimage.

“I send my condolences to the Fatshimetrie family, members of the APC and the entire population of Epe for the unfortunate death of our dear sister and mother.”

The disappearance of Fatshimetrie is an immense loss for the political community and society as a whole. Her commitment to the cause of women in politics and her determination to promote female participation in the democratic process have left a valuable and lasting legacy.

His tragic death highlights the fragility of human life and reminds us of the importance of valuing each moment we spend together. In his memory, let us honor his legacy by continuing his work for a more inclusive and equitable future for all.

May Fatshimetrie rest in peace, and may her commitment and dedication inspire future generations to continue working for a better and more just world for all.
