The President of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Félix Tshisekedi, recently paid a visit to the construction site of the Kinshasa Financial Center. This visit illustrates the importance that the Head of State attaches to the country’s economic development and the progress of infrastructure projects.
The Kinshasa Financial Center is a major project that should contribute to the modernization of the Congolese capital. President Tshisekedi was able to observe, during his visit, that the work is progressing at a satisfactory pace. Indeed, the director of the Turkish company Milvest, in charge of the construction, estimated that more than 90% of the work has already been completed.
This building complex will include four 21-storey towers, housing the Ministries of Finance and Budget, as well as government offices. It will also house a five-star hotel and a convention center that can accommodate up to 3,000 people.
This project, the result of cooperation between the DRC and Turkey, was initiated following the signing of agreements between the two countries in 2022. These agreements were concluded during the official visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the DRC.
The construction of the Kinshasa Financial Center mobilizes nearly 3,000 people, including 1,200 Turkish workers and 1,800 Congolese. President Tshisekedi also ensured the working conditions of the workers during his visit to the site.
The inauguration of this Financial Center is scheduled for next December, marking an important step in the economic development of the DRC. This project will strengthen infrastructure and stimulate economic activity in the capital.
President Tshisekedi thus shows his desire to modernize the country and promote its economic development. The Kinshasa Financial Center will be a symbol of this will and an emblematic place of the Congolese economy
