This rise in crime is part of a context of struggle for the title of emirate currently roiling the state Residents, worried and dismayed by this situation, are strongly calling on Governor Abba Yusuf to establish a comprehensive and effective security network to resolve this problem once and for all.

Particularly striking is the alarming account of Alhaji Abubakar Mohammad, a resident of Gwale region, who saw his wife being attacked and robbed by bandits. He calls on the Police Commissioner to deploy more personnel to bring the perpetrators of these acts to justice. The call for enhanced security is also shared by Malam Abdulmuni Shehu of Dala and Hajiya Aishatu Abu of Dan Agundi, who are observing the security situation in the metropolis with concern.

Residents are calling for increased security measures, including foot patrols and the deployment of plainclothes officers, to apprehend the bandits and restore peace to the community. They emphasize that these young criminals represent a serious threat to the peace that reigned in Kano before the start of the feud for the title of emirate.

In response, the Commissioner of Police, Usaini Gumel, assures residents that the police are fully mobilized on this issue and will take the necessary measures to apprehend the criminals. On his part, Commissioner for Information Malam Baba Danteye says the Kano State government is actively collaborating with security agencies to bring to justice those responsible for these heinous acts. It underscores the government’s full commitment to supporting the police and other state security agencies to maintain peace and security in the region.

In this spirit of cooperation, it encourages all residents to join the collective effort by reporting any suspicious activity or suspicious person to the relevant authorities, in order to enable rapid and effective action.
