The national primary school leaving exam (ENAFEP) 2023 began on June 1 in the city of Kasumbalesa, province of Haut-Katanga in the Democratic Republic of Congo. In total, 11,362 candidates, including 5,902 girls, are expected for this test, which has been made free for the first time in the history of primary education thanks to the commitment of President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi and the National Minister for EPST, Tony Mwaba.
In this part of the national territory, the Don Bosco primary school welcomed the first candidates, under the watchful eye of Tshisambu Tshindamba Bénoit, the Sous-Proved of the EPST Kasumbalesa-Sakania. The latter paid tribute to the president for his vision of free ENAFEP, and declared that he had taken all the necessary measures to avoid requests for money from the participants.
Unfortunately, the start of this national examination had to be postponed for a few days in certain educational provinces, following the late arrival of the trunks of items at the drop-off points. Thus, ENAFEP is postponed to Monday June 12 and Tuesday June 13 in the provinces of Isiro, Watsa, Boende, Bokungu and Buta. For the provinces that have started giving the tests, they will take place over two days, from June 1 to 2, 2023.
The young Congolese, the hope of tomorrow, face at the end of the school year this decisive test for the continuation of their educational journey. We wish them good luck for these exams, which will measure the level of learning achieved after years of hard work.
