“Aron Mbo Isomy wins gold medal in Congolese wrestling!”

Congolese athlete Aron Mbo Isomi once again made the DRC shine at the Games of La Francophonie. This Monday, July 31, he won the gold medal in the 97 kg category in freestyle wrestling, beating the French Khounkaev Askerkhan Mokhamad on points (6-2). The victory marks her second gold medal at this competition.

Aron Mbo Isomi thus joins his compatriot Andy Mukendi Kabeya, who had also given the DRC its first gold medal in freestyle wrestling. The two Congolese athletes are a credit to their country and demonstrate their talent and determination on the mat.

The Congolese wrestling team also won other medals during these Games of La Francophonie. Reagan Mabuba Mbo, despite losing to Senegalese wrestler Faye Modou, won the silver medal in the same category as his compatriot Aron Mbo Isomi.
