Congolese jugglers have recently participated in the Francophonie Games, in the discipline of ball juggling. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, they could only obtain a bronze medal in this cultural competition. However, for a first participation, this performance is encouraging for the company Fecofree.
Morocco took the gold medal, thus retaining their title won in the previous edition, while Côte d’Ivoire won the silver medal. A total of eight countries competed in this competition, after the elimination of Benin and Chad.
Each team had eight minutes to present their ball juggling show, highlighting originality, creativity, precision and technique. A jury made up of experts in the discipline, from different French-speaking countries, was responsible for designating the winners of each confrontation.
The ball juggling competition was marked by a real show, combining demonstration, dance and festive atmosphere. On the stage of the exchanger, the Congolese artists captivated the public with their performances, even if some leave with a slight disappointment at not having won the gold medal.
Ball juggling is an artistic discipline that is part of the performing arts, alongside theatre, dance and mime. It consists of performing a show by juggling a soccer ball, using different parts of the body, such as the feet, the hands and even instruments such as sticks or bottles.
The Francophonie games take place in Kinshasa and include nine sports disciplines and eleven cultural competitions. Nearly 40 countries are represented at this event, which highlights French-speaking youth.
Despite the bronze medal won by the Congolese artists, they showed their talent and their passion for ball juggling, thus contributing to the animation of these Francophonie games. It is a well-deserved recognition for them and a source of inspiration for young Congolese artists who will be able to invest in this booming artistic discipline
