Discover groundbreaking technology innovations from Huawei Cape Town Tech Club

At the heart of the technological excitement, the recent event organized by Huawei Cape Town Tech Club captivated the attention of more than 150 guests, ranging from tech enthusiasts to industry leaders, gathered at this dynamic annual summit mother city. The meeting was an opportunity to explore advances in innovation and technology, with speakers sharing the latest emerging trends and new products that reinforce Huawei’s vision of building a connected world. Guests were also treated to demonstrations of Huawei’s latest platforms and technologies.

In his opening remarks, Shaun van Zyl, Cape Town Regional Director for Huawei, highlighted the company’s commitment to research and development, and the breakthroughs made through this investment: “Last year, Huawei dedicated 24% of its annual revenue to R&D, enabling us to drive technological innovation, ensure a healthy supply chain and ecosystem, and accelerate digital transformation in various sectors Huawei offers. cutting-edge, world-class solutions across these industries, with a strong focus on finance, retail, education, public sector, healthcare and internet service providers, at affordable, no-compromise costs on performance or service.”

Huawei’s renowned experts also unveiled brand new offerings such as the HiSec SASE Solution, which promises intelligent protection for enterprise branches. The audience also learned about Huawei’s high-quality 10Gbps CloudCampus, aimed at improving the connectivity and security of enterprises’ digital systems.

Huawei’s new HiSec SASE solution provides comprehensive protection for data centers, networks and B2B services against security threats such as information leaks, botnets, Trojans and unauthorized access.

Bernhard Alexander Heyer, IP Product Manager at Huawei, points out that: “Common attacks such as ransomware, distributed denial of service attacks and advanced persistent threat attacks are increasing year after year, causing data and financial losses. important for businesses, especially multi-branch businesses.”

As companies gradually move their branch systems to the cloud, they face challenges such as slow deployment of services, poor user experience, costs and complexity to adapt traditional security systems to the headquarters model, reduced work efficiency due to a large number of security incidents in branches, slow response times due to operation and maintenance (O&M) procedures and a lack of security skills.

Heyer explains: “Huawei’s HiSec solution transforms defense systems from a reactive to a proactive approach by offering cloud-based analytics for network-wide analysis and O&M. For example, the Qiankun platform offers second-level response and 99.95% detection accuracy, reducing response time from two days to seconds.”

Customers also benefit from converged SASE gateways that bring together all the advanced security features with routing and switching for ultimate security with reduced complexity and cost.

On the connectivity side, Huawei’s new experience-centric 10Gbps CloudCampus solution enables businesses of all sizes to unlock greater efficiency and convenience.

“With the synergy of technologies and applications, businesses are seeing three major changes during their digital and intelligent transformation: fully wireless endpoints, always-assured applications and intelligent O&M,” said Floyd Naidoo, Senior Director of Solutions at Huawei.

Huawei’s Wi-Fi 7, for the first time in the industry, offers an upgrade to installations providing single endpoint test speeds of up to 4.33 Gbps, double that of Wi-Fi 6E networks .

So “ultra-large files can be downloaded in seconds,” says Naidoo.

The solution also brings the industry’s first digital campus map, a three-dimensional map of networks, users, endpoints and applications that visualizes the end-to-end (E2E) experience, helping to locate the root causes of problems with one click. This can improve O&M efficiency by a factor of 10, says Naidoo.

Updates on Huawei’s E2E storage infrastructure and data center solution

Other Huawei experts present at the event shared information on storage frameworks, including E2E Flash Storage Infrastructure for the Intelligent Era and Huawei’s data center solution called DCS.

Clinton George, Senior Storage Architect for Huawei Enterprise Solutions, discussed the company’s creation of an end-to-end flash storage infrastructure for a smart era. With Huawei’s F2F2X (Flash to Flash to Anything) architecture, customers can build more efficient, secure and environmentally friendly data centers. The F2F2X data center storage architecture covers the storage spectrum from flash storage to backups and archiving, as well as multi-cyclic ransomware protection and end-to-end management.

“For core and business-critical workloads, Huawei’s OceanStor Dorado all-flash storage solution delivers industry-leading performance,” designed to meet the highest demands for performance and reliability.

Thus, this technology summit organized by the Huawei Cape Town Tech Club made it possible to discover significant advances in the field of security and business connectivity, offering innovative solutions to meet current challenges and support digital transformation. The products and technologies presented clearly demonstrated Huawei’s commitment to staying at the forefront of innovation and delivering superior solutions to its customers, helping to shape a connected and secure future.
