Malian nonuplets, an incredible story of courage, survival and love that moved the whole world. In May 2021, nine brothers and sisters were born in an exceptional birth that marked the history of medicine. Born prematurely at the Aïn Borja clinic in Casablanca, Morocco, these nine little miracles had to fight from their first breath to survive and grow.
Today, three years later, the Malian nonuplets are celebrating their birthday in their new home in Bamako, surrounded by the love of their parents and an entire nation that has followed them step by step on their incredible journey. Adama, Oumou, Hawa, Kadidia, Fatouma, Oumar, Elhadji, Bah and Mohammed: nine first names that resonate like a hymn to life, perseverance and the strength of the family.
The father, Abdelkader Arby, works hard to provide for his large family, commuting between Timbuktu and Bamako. The mother, Halima Cissé, is supported on a daily basis by a team of dedicated people who watch over the well-being of these nine treasures. From the clinic in Morocco to their current home, the nonuplets have traveled a long journey, marked by challenges, but above all by an incredible determination to live fully.
Every day is a logistical challenge for the Arby-Cissé family, with their nine children with very distinct personalities but united by an unwavering bond. Little girls take their father’s side, while boys prefer their mother’s side. Despite the trials of the past, the nonuplets have no major after-effects and grow up in good health, surrounded by love and constant care.
The daily life of nonuplets is a delicate balance between baths, games, meals and well-deserved moments of rest. An almost normal life, enhanced by moments of joy shared with family and unique experiences that will forever mark these nine little heroes. From their first hours in an incubator to their recent appearance on Malian national television, Malian nonuplets continue to inspire with their courage and strength of character.
As Malian nonuplets celebrate their third birthday, it is an opportunity to pay tribute to their fight, to the determination of their parents and to the solidarity of an entire community which has supported them since day one. Their story is a message of hope and resilience, a poignant reminder of the beauty of life and the power of love. Malian nonuplets, symbols of life in all its splendor, will continue to shine and inspire entire generations with their incredible story.
