Fatshimetrie recently highlighted the tragic events that took place at Al-Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza. Information reported by the Anadolu news agency reveals blood-curdling atrocities perpetrated by the Israeli army during its assault on this medical facility.
The bodies of the “handcuffed martyrs”, who were allegedly buried alive by the Israeli occupying forces, were discovered, thus shedding harsh light on the unprecedented violence suffered by the Palestinians during these events. Following the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Al-Shifa Medical Complex, the extent of the destruction left behind has been revealed, revealing a picture of desolation.
Testimonies from medical sources in the Gaza Strip highlight hundreds of bodies found inside the compound. The barbarity appears to have known no bounds, with reports indicating that the Israeli army burned down and completely destroyed the hospital buildings. The floors of the specialist surgical unit were wiped out, as were the main reception building, emergency rooms and many other medical facilities.
The buildings dedicated to nephrology, maternity, morgues and consultations were also seriously damaged. The sinister picture does not end there, with the discovery of dozens of corpses inside the medical complex and in the surrounding streets. Residents witnessed the ransacking of the temporary cemetery erected within the grounds of the Al-Shifa Medical Complex, with bodies exhumed before being thrown into different corners of the hospital.
Not only did the Israeli army ravage this essential medical complex for the Palestinian population, but it also destroyed many surrounding homes and residential buildings, affecting thousands of innocent lives.
These terrible events, which caused numerous deaths, injuries and arrests, demonstrate once again the extreme violence suffered by Palestinians under Israeli occupation. Fatshimetrie will continue to look closely at these tragedies, in the hope that the light of truth can enlighten consciences and work for justice and peace in Palestine.
