Interrogation of Jaynet Kabila by DRC Military Intelligence – March 2024
A recent event shook the Congolese and international political scene, with the interrogation of Jaynet Kabila, former MP and twin sister of former President Joseph Kabila, by the Military Intelligence of the Democratic Republic of Congo. This interrogation session, which lasted nearly six hours, took place in a tense context, following a search carried out at the headquarters of the Laurent Désiré Kabila Foundation, headed by Jaynet Kabila.
Despite the wait surrounding this case, Jaynet Kabila’s lawyer, Me Adonah Kadima, declared that no charges had been brought against his client: “Everything went well. We found that he There was none of what we noted as a charge.” These comments leave one perplexed as to the reasons for the investigation and the legitimacy of the search. Me Kadima underlined the seriousness of the potential accusations, suggesting that in the event of serious suspicion, detention would have been inevitable.
However, despite the apparently favorable outcome of this interrogation, uncertainty still looms. Mr. Kadima concluded by indicating that no other appointment had yet been set, thus suggesting that there could be further developments in this case.
The future may still hold twists and turns in this affair which has captivated the attention of the Congolese and international public.
