Military operations against terrorist groups continue successfully in Nigeria, the Director of Defense Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba, revealed during a briefing in Abuja. Recent troop actions have led to the elimination of several high-level terrorist commanders, including Abu Bilal Minuki, alias Abubakar Mainok, head of Is-Al Furqan Province of ISGS and ISWAP, as well as Haruna Isiya Boderi. The troops also managed to neutralize other terrorist commanders operating in various areas including Birnin Gwari in Kaduna State. Among the eliminated terrorists were notable names such as Kachallah Damina, Kachallah Alhaji Dayi, Kachallah Idi (Namaidaro), Kachallah Kabiru (Doka), Kachallah Azarailu (Farin-Ruwa), Kachallah Balejo, Kachallah Ubangida and Alhaji Baldu among others . These successes were made possible through tactical operations such as ambushes, combat patrols and targeted offensives against terrorist groups.
The impressive arsenal seized by troops between January and March helped disrupt terrorist activities, with the recovery of 2,847 weapons and 58,492 munitions. Among the seizures were 1,497 AK-47 rifles, 33,878 7.62 mm caliber special ammunition, 12,698 7.62 mm NATO caliber ammunition, as well as various other weapons and ammunition. Additionally, over 21.5 million liters of stolen crude oil were recovered, preventing oil pirates from making profits estimated at over N20 billion.
