The region of Beni, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, has been scarred by terrorist attacks for almost 10 years, carried out by the armed group of the Democratic and Allied Forces (ADF). But the army is not giving up and is actively pursuing its fight against the terrorist organization.
Thus, the Armed Forces of the DRC announced that they had arrested an ADF collaborator in the rural commune of Kyondo, in the territory of Beni. The latter was none other than an environmental officer, with close ties to one of the ADF commanders.
The ultimate goal of this arrest is to continue the dismantling of terrorist militia networks, responsible for many lives lost in the Beni region. The military have expressed their desire to put an end to the situation once and for all, despite the numerous arrests made for almost a decade.
Despite successive arrests, terrorist actions continue in this region of the Democratic Republic of Congo. However, the army remains determined to continue its fight and finally hopes to see the situation calm down in the coming months.
