The completion works of national road N°5 (RN 5), linking Bukavu to Kamaniola, in the province of South Kivu, were officially launched by the Minister of State for Infrastructure and Public Works, Alexis Gisaro, on instructions of the President of the Republic, Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo. This initiative is part of the vision of the Head of State aimed at improving the living conditions and economic development of the population.
The population of this region has long suffered from the difficulties of travel between Bukavu and Kamaniola, being sometimes forced to go through neighboring countries, such as Rwanda, to reach these two cities. This unacceptable problem aroused the attention of the President of the Republic, who therefore gave the instruction to carry out the work necessary to put an end to this situation.
During the launch of the works, the Minister Alexis Gisaro underlined the importance of this achievement for the population. He affirmed that the project had been designed in collaboration with the Agency for the Coordination of Major Works (ACGT) and the Office of Roads, in order to materialize the desire of the President of the Republic to improve the living conditions of citizens.
