Recent events within the prestigious fashion and luxury industry have revealed a breathtaking panorama. Indeed, world-renowned Egyptologist Zahi Hawass has shared details of a lavish wedding ceremony held at the Pyramids for Indian billionaire Ankur Jain and his model wife Erika Hammond.

During a captivating interview with Ahmed Mousa on the show “Sur Ma Responsabilité”, Hawass revealed that the festivities took place near the Sphinx, the Mohamed Ali Palace, and that the final event was held on Golden Island.

This wedding with great fanfare, spanning four days, included an evening near the statue of Ramesses II, as well as a legendary banquet, as Mr. Hawass added.

The newlyweds arrived in Egypt aboard a private EgyptAir flight from South Africa, where they had previously enjoyed a thrilling safari adventure.

The cost of renting the area near the Ramses II statue was US$200,000, he noted.

The groom spent about three million dollars during his four-day stay in Egypt for his wedding, Hawass said.

He also stressed that the couple had only praised the security in Egypt, saying they had not encountered any problems and had only received assistance from Egyptian institutions.

The wedding dress, a true masterpiece of cultural fusion, embodied the essence of Indian and ancient Egyptian traditions.

Inspired by the legendary beauty and power of Cleopatra, the dress was adorned with pure gold, reminiscent of the opulence of ancient Egypt. Its intricate design also reflected the rich heritage of Indian craftsmanship, seamlessly merging two distinct cultures into one harmonious whole.

Before the grand wedding ceremony, the newlyweds organized a pre-wedding gala evening for their illustrious American guests at the Grand Egyptian Museum on the theme “Ancient Egypt X Met Gala”.

The event was punctuated by traditional performances and ancient Egyptian dances, while guests received gifts of perfumes inspired by ancient Egyptian culture, papyrus scrolls and body accessories.

According to Hawass, Jain’s father had visited Egypt 15 years ago with his three sons, including Ankur who had now returned to celebrate his marriage here.

The guests were delighted by the festivities and expressed their intention to serve as ambassadors for Egypt, Hawass emphasized, thus encouraging others to visit and discover its rich archaeological treasures.
