Accelerating the development program in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is a major concern for the government. During her meeting with Rania Hadra, member of the Supervision and Support Team at the UNDP Regional Bureau for Africa, Judith Suminwa highlighted the delay observed in the execution of the 145-territory Development Program (PDL-145T). This program, initiated by the President of the DRC, aims to bring concrete improvements to local communities, particularly in the field of education.
The Minister of State underlined the importance of speeding up work, particularly as the start of the new school year approaches. She also called for finding solutions to overcome obstacles related to difficult conditions on the ground, especially in areas with difficult access.
For her part, Rania Hadra welcomed the initiative of the Congolese government and assured that the UNDP would do everything possible to support the success of the PDL-145T. The UNDP, which runs the local development program in nine provinces of the DRC, has a budget of approximately US$641 million to carry out this work. The success of this program is essential to improve the living conditions of local populations and promote the economic development of the country.
