Recent developments in the Nigerian Defense Forces operations have showcased significant progress in combating terrorism and crime across various regions of the country. Major General Edward Buba, the Director of Defense Media Operations, reported that 122 terrorists linked with ISWAP/JAS have voluntarily surrendered along with their families, opting for a peaceful future away from conflict.
In a series of successful operations, troops confiscated a substantial cache of arms, including 211 weapons and 6,288 different ammunitions. The recovered weapons range from AK47 rifles to hunting rifles, indicating a substantial blow to the terrorist organizations.
In the northeast, Operation Hadin Kai resulted in the elimination of 71 terrorists, the arrest of 143 suspects, and the rescue of 58 hostages. Airstrikes targeted terrorist hideouts, with significant damage inflicted on their logistical infrastructure.
Further military actions extended to the North-Center and North-West regions, with Operations Safe Haven, Whirl Stroke, and Hadarin Daji neutralizing 91 fighters, apprehending 102 criminals, and freeing 44 captives.
Operation Delta Safe in the South tackled crude oil theft, leading to the recovery of over 900,000 liters of stolen oil and the dismantling of 31 illegal refining sites.
