The management of public finances is a major issue for any State, and the Democratic Republic of Congo is no exception. In order to fight against embezzlement and bad practices in the management of public resources, an educational session was organized by the General Inspectorate of Finance (IGF) in collaboration with the National Association of Portfolio Companies (ANEP).
This initiative is part of the desire of the Head of State Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi to promote transparent and responsible management of public finances. The IGF, as a control body, has the mission of preventing embezzlement and ensuring good governance within public enterprises.
During this educational session, the representatives of public companies were able to discuss with IGF inspectors the problems encountered in their daily management. The objective was to make them aware of the risks of prevarication and to provide them with the necessary tools to avoid the pitfalls of their predecessors.
During this session, the IGF highlighted the importance of a priori and concomitant control in the management of public finances. This control makes it possible to prevent financial embezzlement, to follow up on previous recommendations and to advise managers on management requirements. It also aims to deter acts of bad governance and improve the financial situation of public enterprises.
The representatives present expressed their satisfaction with this educational session and underlined the importance of putting into practice the lessons learned. They consider this training as an opportunity to improve the management of public finances and contribute to the construction of a transparent and accountable state.
In conclusion, the educational session organized by the IGF and the ANEP made it possible to sensitize the agents of the public companies to the challenges of the management of public finances. It is an important step in the fight against embezzlement and bad practices, and contributes to establishing a culture of transparency and good governance within the Congolese public administration
