“Confirmation of the appointment of the new director general of the NHIA: a major step forward in the health sector”

Following the presentation of the report by the Senate Committee on Health (Secondary and Tertiary) during the plenary session, an official confirmation was announced. This decision follows President Bola Tinubu’s request for confirmation of Ohiri’s appointment, dated February 14. Following this request, the Senate referred the matter to the committee for further evaluation.

The Chairman of the Committee, Senator Banigo Ipalibo (PDP-Rivers West), recalled that the committee had carefully examined the candidate’s Curriculum Vitae and concluded that he was qualified and suitable for the position. According to her, the candidate has solid experience both nationally and internationally, and has the necessary skills to occupy the position of Director General of the NHIA.
