“The War of Statements Between Eedris Abdulkareem and Burna Boy: Who Really Deserves the Praise in Afrobeats Music?”

In a recent performance on Instagram Live with Daddy Fresh, Eddy Remedy commented on former Remedies member Eedris Abdulkareem’s recent statements saying Burna Boy deserves praise for what he has achieved for Afrobeats music.

During his appearance on the Honest Bunch podcast, Eedris Abdulkareem heavily criticized Burna Boy for saying that no one in Nigeria paved the way for him.

Eedris, who enjoyed huge commercial success in the 2000s, did not take kindly to Burna Boy’s words, saying he deserved credit for risking his career in the fight for respect for Nigerian artists.

The veteran rapper has recounted how he put his career on the line when he fought with 50 Cent for trying to treat him as a lesser artiste in Nigeria. Eedris said the incident helped Nigerian artists gain respect from local and international brands, paving the way for success for future generations, including Burna Boy.

However, Eddy Remedy disagreed with Eedris’ statement, saying the latter could not demand respect from the younger generation when he himself had not accorded the same respect to his peers.

During the 40-minute interview with Daddy Fresh, Eddy Remedy called Eedris a liar and a traitor regarding his recounting of the events leading to the creation, success and breakup of The Remedies.

Eddy pointed out that instead of blaming Burna Boy for saying no one paved the way for him, we should thank the Grammy winner for taking Afrobeats music to new heights.
