During the 2024 annual conference of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Niger State Chapter, held in Minna on Tuesday, some important revelations were made. Under the theme “Public Relations in a Challenging Environment: The Role of Stakeholders and Communication in a New Program for Niger”, concrete progress was announced.
At the event, Idris, represented by Malam Jibrin Ndace, Managing Director of Voice of Nigeria (VON), said concrete steps were being taken to improve the current situation. He said the President had given directives to the NSA, DSS and NIP to coordinate their actions with state governors to control the activities of those hoarding food items to ensure price stability.
“I wish to commend, on behalf of the Federal Government, the efforts of the Governor of Niger State, Umaru Bago, for his timely decision to stop the bulk purchase of food for speculation. This initiative has undoubtedly contributed to the recent decline in the cost of food in the state,” he noted.
He also mentioned that the President, over the past seven months, had continued his efforts to revive the economy, combat insecurity, attract foreign direct investments and strengthen Nigeria’s foreign policy in the international arena.
