Title: The Head of State’s Private Communicators Raise Awareness on the Future of Kinshasa
On February 20, 2024, an important meeting was held at the Africana Palace hotel in Kinshasa, bringing together members of the “Private Communicators of the Head of State” (CPC). Emphasis was placed on the awareness campaign entitled “Kinshasa deserves better”. This initiative aims to mobilize the capital’s elected officials to elect a competent governor capable of meeting the city’s current challenges.
The CPC, strong from its commitment within the UDPS, recalled its unwavering support for President Félix Tshisekedi and praised his action at the African Union to promote peace and stability in eastern DRC. Furthermore, the communicators strongly denounced the genocide supported by Rwanda which is affecting the region, underlining the urgency of collective awareness.
The alarming situation in Kinshasa has aroused indignation among CPC members, faced with a series of major challenges such as insecurity, dirt, traffic jams and urban violence. Convinced that the capital deserves quality governance, communicators insist on the need to choose a new governor with skills and a vision aligned with the priorities of the head of state.
Calling for the responsibility of local elected officials, the CPC calls for an informed selection of the next governor, based on criteria of competence and leadership. The vigilance and independence of communicators are also underlined, encouraging them to remain objective relays of information and authentic spokespersons for the Congolese population.
In conclusion, the mobilization of the CPC for the future of Kinshasa shows the importance of placing the general interest at the heart of political decisions. Together, civil society and political actors can work to offer the Congolese capital a brighter future.
This story highlights the determination of the CPC to defend the interests of Kinshasa, thus embodying an example of active and engaged citizenship.
