“Development of the internal regulations of the National Assembly: a crucial mission for the 3rd Republic”

During the plenary session of February 19, Christophe Mboso N’Kodia Pwanga, provisional president of the National Assembly, set up the Commission responsible for developing the internal regulations of this parliamentary chamber. The proposal made by the Elder includes the appointment of 78 delegates, or 3 deputies per province, chosen for their skills and qualifications. These delegates will be responsible for establishing the internal regulations of the Lower House of Parliament.

For this project, provincial elected officials will have to come together and designate their three representatives who will sit on the Commission. This will begin its work on February 21 at the People’s Palace, with an estimated duration of 5 days.

Once the deliberations are completed, the draft rules of procedure will be submitted to the plenary for approval. If validated, the text will then be transmitted to the Constitutional Court to verify its conformity with the Constitution in force.

The president of the session underlined the importance of quality work, in order to propose a text that meets the expectations of the 3rd Republic. The project must be carefully scrutinized, subject to amendments if necessary, to arrive at a final version presentable to the plenary.
