“AFDC-A: A new major political coalition in the DRC is formed to support the second term of Félix Tshisekedi”

In a Congolese political context in full turmoil, the Alliance of Democratic Forces of Congo and Allies (AFDC-A) makes a remarkable entry by presenting its list of 36 national and 76 provincial deputies who are preparing to join the majority supporting the second mandate of Félix Tshisekedi as president of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

During a meeting with the designated informant, Augustin Kabuya, Modeste Bahati Lukwebo, president of the Senate and moral authority of the AFDC-A, revealed the impressive group of elected officials who should join the ranks of the presidential majority. It is important to emphasize that the AFDC-A is now positioned as the third political force in the National Assembly, after the UDPS and the UNC, respectively with 72 and 37 seats.

In this complex political game, where each faction tries to find its place, Augustin Kabuya was recently appointed to identify the majority coalition within the National Assembly, a crucial step for the formation of the next government. The latter has 30 days to submit his report to the Head of State, Félix Tshisekedi.

This announcement marks a new stage in the Congolese political landscape, with a redistribution of cards which could have a significant impact on the government’s next decisions and directions. It remains to be seen how this unique coalition will be able to contribute to the progress and development of the DRC in the years to come.
