This project, financed by the European Union through UNICEF and carried out by the company Virunga Energie, was inaugurated during an official ceremony in Goma. Funding for this project to extend the drinking water network was provided by the European Union to the tune of one million euros, through UNICEF. This envelope allowed the construction of more than 5 kilometers of underground pipes, as well as the installation of a pumping station equipped with two pumps with a capacity of 150,000 liters per hour. This infrastructure makes it possible to transport drinking water to areas where displaced people are gathered, such as the Bushagara and Kanyaruchinya camps.
