The chief superintendent Sébastien Kabulo, head of the territorial police in Kasenga, tragically lost his life, the victim of an assassination. Brother of sports minister François Kabulo, Sébastien Kabulo was found lifeless in a well, in circumstances that have yet to be elucidated.
This assassination comes in a context of growing insecurity in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The region of Haut-Katanga, where this tragedy took place, is unfortunately not spared by this scourge.
The police, in charge of the investigation, expressed themselves on this subject. The Deputy High Commissioner, Charles Esperanto Bin Lwamba, confirmed the death of Sébastien Kabulo and said that all leads would be studied in order to shed light on this criminal act.
This new tragedy comes only a week after the murder of national deputy Chérubin Okende, spokesperson for the political movement Together for the Republic. His body had been discovered in his vehicle in Kinshasa.
These repeated acts of violence and assassinations highlight the urgency of taking measures to guarantee the security of citizens in the DRC. The authorities must redouble their efforts to resolve these cases and bring those responsible to justice.
The Congolese people, already tested by years of conflict and instability, need to feel safe in their daily lives. It is up to the authorities to do everything possible to ensure this security and restore the confidence of the population.
It is important to emphasize that the situation in the DRC should not be reduced solely to these acts of violence. The country also abounds in talent, natural resources and development opportunities. It is essential to highlight these positive aspects to contribute to the development and progress of the country.
While waiting for the light to be shed on this assassination and for justice to be served, we express our condolences to the family of Commissioner Sébastien Kabulo and to all those who have been affected by this tragedy. It is more than ever necessary to work together to put an end to this spiral of violence and build a better future for the DRC.
