“The Republican Guard of the DRC is preparing for an endurance march: a pillar of the preparation of soldiers to ensure security during the Games of La Francophonie”

Endurance march of the Republican Guard in the DRC: an essential exercise for the preparation of soldiers

As part of their military exercises, the troops of the Republican Guard (GR) of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) are preparing to carry out a physical endurance march this Saturday, July 22. This activity, announced in a press release by the press attaché of the GR, Major Adélard Hanga, aims to strengthen the physical condition of the soldiers and prepare them for the different missions they may face.

GR troops will carry out this march in the cities of Kinshasa, Lubumbashi, Kolwezi and Kalemie. In Kinshasa, two sites were selected for this exercise. The elements of the GR with their light combat equipment will march from the Ngaba roundabout to the Limete interchange, passing in particular by Mont Ngafula and UPN, before joining the Tshatshi camp. At the same time, a column of soldiers will be deployed on the Lumumba and June 30 boulevards in Limete before also joining the Tshatshi camp.

It is important to note that this endurance march should not disrupt the daily life of the populations of the cities concerned, as specified by the GR command staff. Indeed, the activities of the population will be able to continue normally.

This choice of deterrent exercise and physical conditioning is of particular importance in the current context. Indeed, the ninth edition of the Francophonie games takes place in less than a week in Kinshasa, the capital of the DRC. The Republican Guard has been tasked with securing the various game sites, in a security context that raises concerns.

These physical preparation and deterrence exercises demonstrate the importance that the Congolese authorities attach to the protection of sites and participants during major events such as the Games of La Francophonie. The Republican Guard plays a key role in providing security for these events and maintaining peace and order in the country.

It is essential to emphasize the dedication and professionalism of the soldiers of the Republican Guard who train regularly to be ready to face all situations. Their physical endurance, combined with their training and discipline, is a valuable asset for the security of the DRC and its citizens.

In conclusion, the endurance march of the Republican Guard scheduled for this Saturday, July 22 is a key element in the preparation of soldiers for the missions to come. This exercise demonstrates the Congolese government’s commitment to providing security during major events and underlines the essential role of the Republican Guard in this area
