Water extension works in the Tokoloté district: a breath of fresh air for the inhabitants of Kindu

The provincial government of Maniema recently allocated a large sum of 62 million 860 thousand 450 Congolese francs (25,355.10 USD) for water extension works in the Tokoloté district, located in the commune of Mikelenge in Kindu. This initiative aims to provide residents with easy access to drinking water, thus helping to improve their quality of life.

The Association of Drinking Water Network Users (ASUREP BIG FIVE) of Maniema will be responsible for implementing this project. The Plateau, Brazza-Neema and Kindu Institute blocks will be the main beneficiaries of this work.

According to Lukinga Radjabu, president of ASUREP BIG FIVE, nearly 30,000 inhabitants will see their situation improve thanks to this water extension. Indeed, until now, these inhabitants had faced difficulties in accessing quality drinking water. But thanks to this initiative, they will finally be able to benefit from clean water without consumption problems within two months.

At the same time, the interim governor of Maniema, Idrissa Afani, stressed the importance of the quality of the work carried out by ASUREP. He insisted on the fact that the latter had to provide impeccable work in order to best meet the needs of the population.

The water extension works are expected to take about three months, according to ASUREP. During this period, measures will be taken to ensure the continuity of drinking water supply in the Tokoloté district. Teams will be mobilized to ensure the efficient implementation of the new water supply system.

This initiative by the provincial government of Maniema illustrates the importance attached to improving the living conditions of local populations. By providing easy access to drinking water, it contributes to promoting the health and well-being of the inhabitants of Kindu, while meeting a fundamental need of the population
