The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Security and Customary Affairs, Peter Kazadi Kankonde, continues his roaming mission in the Katanga region by going to Kalemie, capital of the Tanganyika province. This visit aims to assess the security situation in the region.
During a security meeting that he chaired, the VPM of the Interior stressed that the town of Kalemie was calm, with the exception of a few threats coming from politicians in bad positions. He thus congratulated the provincial security council for its work in maintaining order and the security of the population. However, Peter Kazadi Kankonde called on the population to remain vigilant and contribute to securing the country.
He recalled that security was essential for the development of the country, politically, socially and culturally. He emphasized the role of each Congolese citizen and foreigner residing in the DRC as a security agent. He also called for unity, cohesion and peaceful coexistence, rejecting separatist and tribal discourses.
