On May 13, 2023, Pope Francis appointed Monsignor Léonard Ndjadi Ndjate as the new Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Kisangani in the province of Tshopo. The National Episcopal Conference of Congo (Cenco) announced this news in a press release signed by Bishop Donatien Nshole, secretary general.
Bishop Léonard Ndjadi Ndjate was previously Provincial Superior of the Congregation of Comboni Missionaries in Congo and now takes the titular see Casae in Numidia.
This appointment is an important event for the Congolese Catholic community and bears witness to the Pope’s confidence in Bishop Léonard Ndjadi Ndjate. The Cenco is delighted with the arrival of this new auxiliary bishop who will undoubtedly contribute to evangelization and to the spiritual and moral accompaniment of the population.
