Discover Lagos differently with tourism and water transport
Lagos, Nigeria’s largest city, never ceases to amaze with its innovative initiatives to entertain residents. One of the most recent initiatives is water tourism and transport, offered by Lagferry in partnership with the Lagos State Government.
Lagferry Managing Director, Ladi Balogun, said at the Ignite the Water Ways event in Lagos that many fun activities can be done on the water. He pointed out that water tourism is growing in popularity in Lagos and Lagferry is there to entertain residents.
In line with the Lagos State Government’s Intermodal Transport Scheme, Lagferry offers water transport services to reduce road congestion. But that’s not all, the company also offers the possibility of organizing events and fun activities on the waterways.
Lagferry Operations Manager, Semasa Amos, encouraged Lagos residents to take advantage of these opportunities and organize meetings, parties and even weddings on the water. In addition to the pleasure offered by navigation on the waterways, it also allows you to meet new people, exchange contacts and develop your network.
Lagferry is also committed to improving its service offering to attract more customers. The company has 24 routes and 16 piers, and plans to host Valentine’s Day and Independence Day celebrations on the waterways.
Youth leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Muritala Seriki, has welcomed this initiative by the state government and Lagferry to promote tourism and water transport. He encouraged residents to explore the waterways for travel and leisure activities.
Finally, Adeola Alademodi, Marine Sales Manager of Yamaha Ltd, commended the State Government and Lagferry for their initiative to celebrate customers on the waterways. He, however, stressed the need to find a permanent solution to eliminate water hyacinths, which can cause navigation problems.
With tourism and water transportation, Lagferry offers Lagos residents a new way to experience their city and enjoy unique entertainment moments. Whether relaxing, socializing or simply enjoying the scenery, Lagos’ waterways offer plenty of opportunities to explore. So get on board and let yourself be seduced by this unique experience!
