“Shocking rally: Corneille Nangaa allies with the M23, unequivocal condemnation of the CVAR”

Recent news has sparked strong reactions following the alignment of the war-mongering movement “Alliance Fleuve Congo” with the terrorist group M23. This rally provoked the indignation of the Collective of Victims of Rwandan Aggression (CVAR), which strongly condemns this decision by Corneille Nangaa, former president of the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI).

In a press release published this Tuesday, the CVAR denounces Nangaa’s choice to ally with a movement responsible for the massacre of more than 2,000 people in less than two years. According to the collective, this alliance only drives the nails into the wounds of the population of the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

The CVAR also recalls that Nangaa should recognize its responsibility in the violation of the sovereignty of the Congolese people during the 2018 elections, instead of joining a group responsible for so much suffering and violence. The collective calls on the government to redouble its efforts to liberate the areas occupied by the M23 and asks the Congolese population not to allow themselves to be manipulated by this type of betrayal.

At the same time, the CVAR expresses the wish that the International Criminal Court (ICC) issues an international arrest warrant against Corneille Nangaa, in order to hold him responsible for his actions.

This affair raises many questions and arouses concern about the security situation in the east of the DRC. It is essential that the government takes effective measures to put an end to the activities of armed groups and protect the population.

It is also important to emphasize that this situation highlights the need for genuine national reconciliation in the DRC, in order to overcome the internal divisions and conflicts that are undermining the stability of the country.

In conclusion, Corneille Nangaa’s decision to ally with the M23 movement is strongly condemned by the CVAR. This alliance with a group responsible for serious human rights violations only worsens the already precarious situation in eastern DRC. It is essential that the government takes appropriate measures to put an end to the activity of armed groups and protect the Congolese population. National reconciliation remains essential to guarantee the stability and development of the DRC.
