The news of the opening of the magazine “Plume savante du Congo” in Kinshasa caused a sensation recently. This significant event took place on Saturday December 16, 2023 at the Saint Paul home in the commune of Lemba. The magazine, published by Lumumba Editions, is the result of the collaborative work of several students from different Congolese universities.
The president of the “Plume savante du Congo” association, Norbert KIMVULA KAMBA, opened the ceremony by expressing his gratitude to the partners and editors present. The review, composed of 137 pages, is the result of five contributions selected from numerous proposals.
The editorial director of the journal, Exaucé LUEMBA, retraced the journey of its creation, from the call for contributions to its publication. He underlined the importance of this journal as a channel of expression for Congolese students, allowing them to carry out research in the best conditions.
During the ceremony, patents were awarded to contributors whose articles were published. This included law students such as Damaris KALENGA, Georges KAYALA, BAKILA LUVUNGA, Josepha BETIKA and Bénédict MUTSHIMA, all from the University of Kinshasa and the Catholic University of Congo.
The vice-president of the association, NGULANDJOKO MAPOKO Odon, called on the participants to make the journal “Plume savante” a reference tool for student research. The president of the association also invited students to submit their work for the year 2024, expanding the scope of the association beyond the universities of Kinshasa and the Catholic University of Congo.
This first volume of the journal “Plume savante du Congo” is specifically adapted to the electoral period in the Democratic Republic of Congo, thus reflecting the current political issues in the country.
